Vikas Prakash Joshi’s coming-of-age novel, carried into Kannada. Cinnamon is a boy looking for where he came from — a search that takes in adoption, Usher syndrome and the ordinary business of growing up, handled without a trace of pity.

It is the most widely read of the books on this shelf, and the only one I did not write.
